Thanks for listing my book, "Spontaneous Creation: 101 Reasons Not to Have Your Baby in a Hospital."

The modern-day hospital is a very dangerous place.

Here's a sample quote from just one of my book's 51 chapters:

Chapter 2
"You want your baby to live"

"It is true that U.S. infant mortality (death of infants in their first year) has decreased steadily for the past 50 years, and this should be cause for celebration.
"But the decline has not been due to advances in birthing technology or procedures. The decline has been due to advances in public sanitation and maternal health care.
"[A]dvances in public health have been saving babies at a rate faster than the increasing use of hospital obstetric technology has been killing them."

These are hard words -- for hard times.

Choose a homebirth midwife for your primary caregiver. Let her decide if you have risk factors appropriate for hospital care.

Obstetricians should never be primary caregivers. They should be crisis-care backups for midwives.

In health,
